How to read the comparison

  • Documented
  • Integration work
  • Other component / tier
  • Not confirmed
  • Not included

Documented means supported in the named edition, sometimes through an optional module. Integration work means application code or a sample implementation. Not confirmed means we found insufficient evidence in the cited sources; it does not mean impossible or unsupported.

¹ DHTMLX documents undo for deletion. That does not establish a general undo/redo history for all edits.

02 / Product

Where each library fits.

Our assessment of fit, based on the documented capabilities above. Your data, workflows and licensing needs should decide the shortlist.

01Pro

SuperScheduler

Resource planning, shaped around your product

Consider it for

Evaluate it for operational timelines with many resources, continuous zoom, live drag validation and custom React content. Pro combines trees, pinned rows, dependency lines, history, minimap, range loading and synchronized panes through its supported APIs and optional modules.

Plan for

It is a resource timeline, not a month-calendar suite or an automatic scheduling engine. Your application owns recurrence expansion, time-zone conversion, event forms and exports. React and the DOM API are documented; dedicated Vue and Angular wrappers are not part of this comparison.

Explore live examples
02Premium · v7

FullCalendar

Calendar views plus resource timelines

Consider it for

Consider it when standard calendar views and resource scheduling must coexist. Premium adds resource timelines and vertical resource views. The v7 documentation includes virtual rendering for resource views, including both rows and columns in resource timelines.

Plan for

Keep Standard and Premium separate when budgeting: the MIT-licensed core does not include resource timelines. Check recurrence configuration, custom forms and any planning tools you would build around the calendar. Compare against v7 behavior rather than older virtualization claims.

03Pro · JavaScript

DayPilot

Resource booking and operational planning

Consider it for

Consider it for booking boards with resource trees, frozen rows, custom time scales, dependency links and multi-event operations. Its JavaScript documentation includes React, Angular and Vue integrations, progressive rendering and on-demand loading.

Plan for

Use the JavaScript documentation when evaluating the browser product: ASP.NET recurrence capabilities do not transfer to it. JavaScript requires expanded occurrences, and its undo/redo examples add application-side history. Calendar and Month are separate components from Scheduler.

04Scheduler

Bryntum

Grid-rich scheduling and an upgrade path to an engine

Consider it for

Consider Scheduler for resource planning with grid features, multi-assignment, editing widgets, history and dependency visualization. Scheduler Pro adds the engine for dependency- and calendar-driven rescheduling; evaluate that edition when scheduling logic is a core requirement.

Plan for

Keep Scheduler, Scheduler Pro and Calendar distinct in your technical evaluation and quote. Visual dependencies in Scheduler are not the Scheduler Pro scheduling engine. Export formats can have additional server or configuration requirements.

05Scheduler PRO

DHTMLX

Calendar workflows with configurable timeline views

Consider it for

Consider it when calendar views, an event editor and recurrence should share one scheduling component. PRO adds Timeline, including tree mode and smart rendering in scrollable timelines. Official examples cover blocking, templates and keyboard operation.

Plan for

Check the PRO feature boundary and the exact React integration you plan to buy. Timeline smart rendering requires its scrollable configuration. Undoing a deletion is documented, but is not equivalent to a complete edit history. DHTMLX Gantt is a different product.

06EJ2 React Scheduler

Syncfusion

Scheduling inside a broader component suite

Consider it for

Consider it for applications that need calendar and timeline views, an event editor, recurring appointments, resource grouping and data exports. Its React documentation covers virtual scrolling, time zones, keyboard support and multiple resources per appointment.

Plan for

Test virtualization with the exact view and grouping you will ship. Module injection, event field mapping and the wider suite’s conventions affect integration. The Community License is eligibility-based; it is not an unrestricted open-source license.

07Eventcalendar · Timeline

Mobiscroll

Responsive calendars and touch-oriented planning

Consider it for

Consider it when mobile and desktop calendaring should share a consistent interaction model. Calendar, Scheduler, Timeline and Agenda can be combined; timeline demos document hierarchy, fixed resources, virtual loading, recurrence and visual event connections.

Plan for

The demos show how to assemble application forms and business rules; include that integration work in your estimate. Check framework, print-module and calendar-connector coverage in the package you select. Internal-project pricing is not SaaS pricing.

03 / License

Compare the license, too.

A per-developer subscription, a perpetual license and a SaaS license cover different things. Compare the edition, deployment rights, renewal and team size before comparing a price.

SuperSchedulerPro

Pro: €499 per developer per year. Annual subscription; use rights, including production use, require renewal. Lite is free for qualifying noncommercial use, not for general commercial use.

Check current terms

FullCalendarPremium · v7

Standard uses MIT. Resource views require Premium or another applicable license. Premium allows continued use of the last eligible version after maintenance expires; developer seats and redistribution conditions still apply.

Check current terms

DayPilotPro · JavaScript

Pro distinguishes internal Web, SaaS and OEM use, with different application, instance and developer limits. Licenses are perpetual; maintenance covers upgrades and support. An internal-use license does not cover a public SaaS.

Check current terms

BryntumScheduler

Commercial products with product-specific licensing. Request the quote for Scheduler or Scheduler Pro, the developer count and your deployment model. Do not treat the two editions or the Calendar product as interchangeable.

Check current terms

DHTMLXScheduler PRO

Timeline is a PRO feature. Match the commercial license to your application, developer team and redistribution needs; review the vendor’s current terms and any export-service conditions.

Check current terms

SyncfusionEJ2 React Scheduler

Commercial licensing; a free Community License is available to eligible organizations. Revenue, developer count, employee count and funding criteria apply. Check the current eligibility rules and your distribution scenario.

Check current terms

MobiscrollEventcalendar · Timeline

Internal-project offers use perpetual licenses; the vendor separately lists subscription licensing for SaaS and related distribution models. Print and calendar integrations vary by package or add-on. Match the quote to your project.

04 / criteria

Make the decision with your workload.

A feature matrix gets you to a shortlist. A realistic proof of concept tells you what you can ship.

A

Performance: measure the same job

Use the same resources, events, date range, viewport and event templates. Record initial render, scrolling, zoom, edits and memory after repeated navigation. Publish versions, hardware, configuration and failed runs. This page does not claim a cross-library speed winner: the products have not all been benchmarked here under equal conditions.

Docs
B

Migration: port the rules, not just the rows

Check exclusive end dates, time zones, event IDs, recurrence exceptions, resource assignments and async saves. Rebuild templates and editor flows deliberately. Similar-looking APIs do not guarantee drop-in compatibility; SuperScheduler is not a drop-in replacement for these products.

05 / FAQ

Questions before you choose.

What is the difference between a calendar and a resource scheduler?

A calendar organizes events by date in day, week, month or agenda views. A resource scheduler puts rooms, people or equipment alongside a shared time axis. Choose from the screen and workflows your users need; a timeline month is not the same layout as a month calendar.

Is SuperScheduler an alternative to FullCalendar Premium?

For resource timelines, it is an option to evaluate alongside FullCalendar Premium. SuperScheduler focuses on resource planning, continuous zoom and modular planning tools. FullCalendar also supplies standard calendar views and recurrence support. Both document virtualization; do not choose between them on an outdated claim that FullCalendar has none.

Does SuperScheduler include recurring events or automatic scheduling?

There is no built-in recurrence engine: your application expands series into ordinary events. Dependency lines are visual; rules and successor rescheduling belong to your application. If automatic dependency scheduling is essential, evaluate an engine such as Bryntum Scheduler Pro.

Can I use SuperScheduler Lite commercially for free?

No. Lite is source-available under its PolyForm licenses, free for qualifying noncommercial use and limited evaluation. Commercial use of either edition requires a Pro subscription for each developer. Pro is an annual subscription; if it is not renewed, use rights end, including production use. Read the full license terms.

Which library is fastest for a large scheduling board?

This comparison does not establish a universal performance winner. Event density, visible range, templates, loading strategy and hardware can change the result. Use a representative dataset and measure initial render, scrolling, updates and memory with the same configuration and versions recorded.

Can I migrate without rewriting my integration?

Expect integration work. Map events and resources, port callbacks, check date semantics and rebuild templates and editor flows. SuperScheduler does not promise drop-in compatibility with DayPilot, FullCalendar or another scheduler. Start with one representative screen and validate the business rules before switching.
